State Chapters Recognized at ITS America's Awards Program
WASHINGTON, D.C., November 18, 2008 - The Intelligent
Transportation Society of America has recognized five state
chapters for their efforts in promoting intelligent transportation
systems (ITS) and serving members on a regional basis.
ITS Minnesota was honored as the "Outstanding ITS America
State Chapter." ITS Georgia was named the runner-up.
Three chapters were presented certificates of excellence: ITS
California for outreach and advocacy; ITS Florida for
organizational development and professional development; and ITS
Virginia for emerging practices and deployments.
The awards were presented Nov. 17 during a special ceremony of
the ITS America Annual Meeting and Exposition held in conjunction
with the 15th World Congress on ITS in New York.
